Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming to crop up on iPhone

The Harvest Moon franchise has done the rounds on both the DS and PSP, with moderate success and a reasonable cult following, and now the series' developer, Natsume, is getting in on the iPhone field with an adaptation of Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming.

Set on Sunny Island, the crops are growing out of control (global warming has its plus sides, too), and it's up to you to decipher the touchscreen puzzles in a new version of the crop harvesting action game.

Your plants begin life as seedlings, growing into full crops as you keep them watered and well. As the Harvest Sprite, your job is to bring in the ripe produce while maintaining and growing the remaining seeds, though by all accounts the iPhone version will be streamlined to include just the puzzle gameplay and dispense with the (rather weak) storyline.

What will be missed is the multiplayer mode, though hopefully this might come along in an update.

Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming is due out on DS at any time, with the iPhone version following later in the year.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
