Drive with a Smile

Go-kart racing obviously isn’t exciting enough to stand on its own in the video game canon; developers continue insisting that the action’s spiced up with power-ups, crazy characters and sub-plots that involve everything from itinerant plumbers to megalomaniac gangs.

It’s the latter that’s causing trouble in Happy Kart, as the ill-tempered Gloomy Legion have entered Happy Land's annual kart race in order to win the Elixir of Happiness. Despite the fact that, of all Happy Land’s inhabitants, the Gloomy Legion probably could do with the Elixir more than any other, it’s up to you to stop them. You fill the undoubtedly shiny white shoes of Zchen, a young racer who’s determined to prevent the Gloomy Legion from winning.

And so the stage is set for a five-round championship involving sideways-scrolling racing action and plenty of power-ups to make your job that little bit easier. Happy Kart is available now from Ozura.
