Hangman Sim swings from the App Store gallows
Bring out yer dead
When you look at it from a certain perspective, the classic word game hangman takes on a rather tasteless lilt. It never really occurred to us before witnessing the interactive nature of Hangman Sim that the connotations of that children's game are actually rather warped and dark. But they are.
In many ways, the violent act of hanging the character by his neck, until dead, was camouflaged by the crude line drawings and lack of animation. But no more. Kidnea Beans has put together a genuinely high quality version of the game, with a dictionary of over 5000 words, but with gravity based, rag-doll physics for the poor executed illiterate.
On top of that, you can actively interfere with his hanging corpse, tilting the handset and pulling at his limp limbs to see how he reacts. Sick, but surprisingly entertaining. (I'm not surprised - ed). Weighing in at less than a quid, this could be a delicious little app for the right iPhone, so check out Hangman Sim if you're feeling particularly bright and brutal.
