With the Nexus One still stuck in a bizarre kind of limbo when it comes to a solid UK release date, it falls to HTC’s Legend - along with its sibling the Desire - to fly the Android 2.1 flag in this particular part of the world.

Vodafone has opened up advance registration pages on its website for both the Legend and the Desire, with a projected launch of April.

That’s not the end of the Android-related fun, though: Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 is also available for pre-order. The Nexus One - which Vodafone confirmed it was bringing to Britain some time ago - appears on the site as well, but lacks that all-important release date.

It’s a veritable flood of Android-related goodness and marks a solid start to 2010 for Google’s mobile platform.

Damien's mum hoped he would grow out of playing silly video games and gain respectable employment. Perhaps become a teacher or a scientist, that kind of thing. Needless to say she now weeps openly whenever anyone asks how her son's getting on these days.
