Rumour: HTC Desire to get Gingerbread some time in spring or summer
|

Fresh off the back of rumours concerning the release of Gingerbread – Android 2.3 - for Nexus One owners comes speculation of a possible Gingerbread release for HTC's Desire line - scheduled for spring or summer.

According to pocketnow, rumours from MWC in Barcelona point to the release of HTC's Desire S some time in spring, which will come with Gingerbread pre-installed.

The HTC Desire and its 'desirable siblings' are set to follow thereafter, with the Desire HD and Desire Z first in-line for an update.

Confusingly, rumour also suggests a further release scheduled for April, which will see the arrival of Android 2.4, also named Gingerbread, which is rumoured to add support for dual-core apps designed for Google's tablet OS, Honeycomb.
