High fidelity, high cost

Glu Mobile releases Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock on Android

Glu has released its latest Guitar Hero game onto the Android Market. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock features the same chord-matching gameplay as its predecessor, but with one or two welcome additions.

Chief among these is a timely boost in track quality. I’m not referring to the choice of songs – that’s a matter of preference.

While we're on the subject, though, the line-up this time includes: “Aerosmith, AFI, Arch Enemy, Credence Clearwater Revival, Escape Plan, Night Ranger, Rolling Stones, RX Bandits, Slash featuring Ian Astbury, Strung Out, Sum 41 and more.”

But the real improvements are in the fidelity of these tracks. They’re now full-length and high quality.

As well as improved visuals and a new, “epic look designed for heavy music fans,” Warriors of Rock also features OpenFeint integration, allowing for the inclusion of achievements and online high-score leaderboards.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the (relatively) eye-watering price tag of £5.05/$7.99.
