If you're a developer that loves to post Android 'games' like Cutz the Rope or Infinity Blad II, your days are, hopefully numbered.

Google has changed its developer policy for Google Play to specifically target apps and app icons that are "confusingly similar" to others on the service. Google will then remove them.

The Big G is also fed up with adverts that "negatively affect the experience by deceiving consumers or using disruptive behavior such as obstructing access to apps", and so will be clamping down on these, too.

Any apps that "disclose personal information without authorisation" will be treated harshly by the online search giant, as well.

Google is giving developers 30 days amnesty to make the necessary changes before it strikes out at them, after which it will start sending warnings and removing any offenders that don't comply with the new rules.
