Ghostbusters coming to save the iPhone
We got one!
The new Ghostbusters game is getting fans of the classic 1984 sci-fi comedy film very excited, as it promises to be the third instalment of the franchise (and is likely to make good on that promise).
The new console versions come complete with a story written by Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis in which players become the fifth member of the paranormal investigators and eliminators.
ElectricPig has detected activity on its PKE meter from the ghost of Sony Pictures that an iPhone version will be released to accompany the new Ghostbusters revival, though details on exactly how it’ll play haven’t been revealed.
The Wii version promises a fair amount of interactivity, using the controller as the proton pack, so presumably we can expect something similar with the iPhone’s accelerometer.
It has been revealed that Ghostbusters will be coming in June, however, (alongside the console versions) so it could well make use of the new iPhone 3.0 SDK and the inherent device-to-device connectivity that comes with that new software package.
Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Who ya gonna call”, eh?
