GameBone Pro brings Bluetooth D-pad and buttons to iPhone games

We have our fingers crossed that this isn't a leftover from April Fool's Day (which we admitted had a little fun with ourselves this year), but from what we can tell the GameBone Pro is indeed an iPhone accessory that's due to go into production, picked up on by MobileGamesBlog.

Despite its suggestive name and bizarre design, its spec sheet is actually very enticing. The GameBone Pro offers a Bluetooth D-pad, four game buttons and two shoulder buttons for your iPhone games, and comes with a whopping 2000mAh lithium ion rechargable battery built in.

This sounds like a lot for a few buttons, but this battery can also be used as an emergency charger for the iPhone, since the GameBone Pro has the proprietary 30-pin iPod connector built-in.

There's also built in speakers, mic and 3.5mm headphone jack, suggesting you might even be able to use it as a kind of Cat Weazel-esque headset (or a 'telling bone', as it was known).

Hopefully this isn't a lark, as the features of this peripheral are actually pretty awesome, even if it does look like a techno dog toy.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
