Game Mobile launches weekly mobile games chart
Monopoly Here and Now takes inaugural top spot
We regularly cover the UK's ELSPA mobile games chart, which monitors sales on the five main operators. However, mobile games portal Game Mobile has now launched its own chart, which it says is based on global downloads.
The chart will be a weekly Top 20 (although for some reason the first one is a top 19), and will be offered as an RSS feed, as well as a standard chart format. Game Mobile reckons it'll offer an accurate picture of which games are popular around the world, rather than just on the operators or in one country.
It's not clear what they mean by global sales, mind - presumably sales through the Game Mobile portal to people from all countries? The site claims to attract more than 1.5 million mobile gaming visits a month, on WAP and web.
Glu's Monopoly Here and Now takes top spot in the current edition, followed by Worms 07, Real Football Manager Edition, Tetris and Brain Challenge.
Still, at least it makes a change that Deal or No Deal isn't No.1. In the Game Mobile chart it's No.6.
