Galaxy Nexus back on sale on US Google Play Store
Apple ban is temporarily suspended
The Galaxy Nexus is back on sale in the US, a week after it was pulled from the Google Play Store.
Having successfully won an injunction and temporary sales ban against Samsung's Galaxy Nexus handset, Apple enjoyed a minor victory when the patent-infringing device was removed from Google's online store.
The offending feature - Google's Quick Search Box - was deemed to infringe US patent '604, which relates to Apple's "unified search" solution, Siri.
In an effort to circumvent the sales ban, Google and Samsung pledged to release a software patch for the Galaxy Nexus. The patch is designed to prevent users from gaining access to the infringing tech.
Your move, AppleFollowing Samsung's appeal for temporary relief, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit suspended the ban on the Galaxy Nexus.
Apple will still have a chance to respond to Samsung's request, however, and the court will still have to determine whether Sammy's blower can remain on sale throughout the patent infringement trial.
According to Google, though, the device will now ship with Jelly Bean, the newest version of Android, and will include the aforementioned software patch.
Currently, the Galaxy Nexus is shown as available on Google Play with a shipping time of 1-2 weeks.
