Shooter. Something about a General

TAG has chosen to promote GUTS in quite a pleasing way. For most games, we get an email containing a press release saying something along the lines of, “This is a great game with several levels!” TAG sent us a load of old nonsense about a communist dictator.

GUTS is like an iPhone game version of the film Innerspace, or Fantastic Voyage before it, with the object being to pilot a miniaturised craft around inside a person’s body.

The person in this case is General Schmerdiakv, dictator of Slabovia.

The App Store description of GUTS is also pleasing, consisting as it does of more old nonsense about a communist dictator, including What’s Being Said comments like, “By far the best game we’ve ever been forced to play,” and “Buy it. Enjoy. Or Be Punished.”

Amongst its listed features are that it’s the “first and only iPhone game to be set inside a dictator,” and, “a once in a lifetime opportunity to see inside The General.”

The screenshots look very nice, and if the humour that permeates the promotional effort extends to the game itself it should be good for a few laughs. If you don’t feel like hanging on for our definitive review, you can pick it up now for £1.79 by clicking below these words where it says ‘Buy It!’
