By far the biggest announcement about DS to come out of E3 was the revelation Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is coming to the handheld. Finally, a DS game for the hardcore (or just the very violent) and a game that doesn't involve cleaning up puppy pee or learning how to cook is on its way.

Aside from its existence though, Rockstar was quite tight-lipped about exactly how Grand Theft Auto would play on DS. However, Ben Feder, Take-Two's CEO, has offered one little tid-bit of information in an interview with GameDaily - albeit quite an obvious one.

And that is that the game will be be created specifically for the platform. There will be no just scaling down the PSP's Liberty City Stories and chucking it over to DS. Feder says: "You need to create a game for that platform and that's what we expect to do with GTA: Chinatown Wars for DS."

Speaking about the game's arrival to DS in general, Feder also commented: "...you can imagine we're really excited about one of the best franchises, if not THE best franchise in the business, mapped against the largest installed base in the business."

In other Grand Theft Auto news, while the official website - currently bearing a place-holder screen - might not offer too much information on the game, it does feature the Nintendo wi-fi logo, so we can all sleep happy that it will feature some sort of car-carnage multi-player action.
