The head of developer Futurlab, the studio behind PlayStation shooter Velocity, believes that a lack of trophies is a massive factor in why gamers choose not to buy PS Mini titles.

"Lack of trophies in Minis is probably the single biggest turn-off for most gamers," James Marsden said when speaking to website TheSixthAxis. "At least that's the impression we get from feedback on our games."

A storm is coming

According to Marsden, MotorStorm RC is the yardstick for PS Vita games, as it's a portable title that takes full advantage of connected features.

"In my opinion, MotorStorm RC is the first example of what a PS Vita game should be, as it suits a portable device and is able to use the connected features to its advantage," he said.

It's also worth noting that MotorStorm RC is one of the few downloadable PSN titles that features a platinum trophy.
