Friday Freebie: No Gravity PSP demo, a DS decal maker and...

| Friday Freebie

Alongside life's most stupid questions such as "Is this island totally surrounded by water?", "How long does a lifetime membership last?" and "Is this the way to Amarillo?" sits the best of them all: "Do you want this for free?"

So we won't waste another minute with preamble and assume that you're all eager to get your smarts into this week's costless wares.

So the PSP has a shaky collection of leftovers to call its own this week, first with an online chat program that works via the PSP's web browser called PSPeeps. Once you sign up you can use the virtual QWERTY to chat with other members in real-time, and though it doesn't appear to have a giant congregation of members, you could help change that with your participation.

The second PSP freebie is a bit of an odd one. We have uncovered a demo of the forthcoming No Gravity game for the PSP at Qj.net. The difference here is that this demo is from over a year ago, before the game had found a publisher for the PSP version, and as such, it's in homebrew form. Obviously this means that if you want to play the game ahead of its release, you'll need to take your PSP on a trip over to the dark 'bru side.

Like we said, leftovers. But, hey, not every week can be a feast.

Over on the DS, there's still no change on the Wii's dusty and oft forgotten Nintendo Channel, which has forced us to go looking under rocks. After enduring a few icky creepy crawlies, we have come across something at least halfway interesting.

If any of you have ever been to the Mario Kart DS Central fan site, you'll know it's a good place to organize tournaments and meet like-minded players. What you may not know is that it also features a decal maker (or icon maker to us less well versed in such jargon) where you can upload an image of your choice and then see it changed into a decal (icon). You can then, if so inclined, laboriously translate the decal over into the DS's icon creation tool for use with the game. Yes, we know it's very similar to last week's DS offering, but as you will probably already know, this is just how it is where the DS is concerned on the Friday Freebie.

As for mobiles, well, things are considerably better. Head to our Demos section for freshly added playable versions of Death Race, Bikini Beach Party and Brain Tester 24 Pack, with our compliments.

That's the lot for now. Remember if you spot any interesting (legal) freebies that we'd love to hear about them in our forum (this is not an open invitation to spam, people). Also do give our Freebie Archive a click through if you haven't already and click 'Track It!' to be sure not to miss next week's edition of Friday Freebie.
