Flash! Ahhahhh, he saved everyoneofus, da da da daaa, dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum.

Sorry, we lost ourselves for a minute there.

But before you go assuming that scraping the slimy barnacle clad underbelly of this great ship we call the internet for freebies, week in, week out, has finally caused us to completely take leave of our senses, you should know that we do not burst into spontaneous song and dance lightly. There is a good reason for it, honest.

That reason is that we have come across a fantastic little collection of flash games for the PSP's web browser and they are unique for a number of reasons (besides the musical effect they have on us). The first is that, unlike many other collections of PSP tailored flash games, the titles available in the collection at pspflashgaming (which is where you should point your PSP's browser to play them) don't take several human lifetimes to load.

Also, they are reliable, so if you are playing PSPtris (no prizes for guessing what that's 'inspired' by), you will at no point discover half-way through that parts of the screen have decided to take an unsolicited lunch break, leaving you to guess where the next block should fall.

Last of all, the games are tightly integrated with the PSP's controls, and are very responsive, which just makes the whole enterprise more of a genuine slice of gaming fun, rather than a, 'look what else the PSP can sort of almost do' kind of distraction.

We recommend, the aforementioned PSPtris, PSPMan (which is a sort of Pac-Man themed affair) and the especially brilliant, Falling Down, which features the odd character that you might even recognize (though sadly none of them are a pissed-off Michael Douglas with a crew cut) .

And the excitement continues because on DS there's some good news at last. The Wii's Nintendo Channel has been updated with a new DS demo and before you go thinking that it's probably going to be something boring like Sudoku Coach 5 or Nintendo Spelling Bee Touch!, it's not – it's Spore Creatures (huzzah!).

The full list of the rest of the demo titles available on the Nintendo Channel at the moment is as follows:

Iron Man
Tetris
Big Brain Academy
Brain Training
42 All Time Classics
Mario Kart DS
Picross
Sight Training
Maths Training

Moving on, a demo that has been a long time coming has arrived on mobiles, and it's exclusively housed within the confines of our Demos section. We are of course talking about the oft hinted at Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo, and clicking here will earn you five minutes alone with it. Enjoy!

Finally, we haven't had a free iPhone game recommendation for a while, so this week, you're getting two. The first is for something that you should all be familiar with on some level: Space Invaders Lite. It's about as faithful a conversion of the original that you could hope for and frankly, if you don't like Space Invaders, then what are you doing reading this?

The second recommendation is for Hudson Sof's Puzzloop Free. Essentially, Puzzloop Free is a predecessor of the Luxor/Zuma school of modern casual puzzle games, but the interesting thing about it is that there's a much bigger paid-for version of it available on the App Store. And it's ace. Read our Puzzlooop iPhone review to see what we mean.

Could this be the way that developers seek to get tasters of iPhone games into our hands in the future? We certainly hope so as it means that alongside some of the excellent titles available for free on the App Store, we will also get to try out some of the more high profile paid titles for nothing, too. Is it too much to hope for a single track version of the forthcoming Need for Speed: Undercover?

We'll leave you to ruminate on that and, of course, enjoy the frankly excellent spread that we have laid on for you today. If you're still not satisfied, however, remember that the Freebie Archive is always worth a look, as is our Demos section which is updated regularly. Remember to click 'Track It!' and until next week, bon freebie!
