Friday Freebie: Pipe Mania and Hitman Reborn demos hit the PSP

It's been a while since we had a nice dependable meat and potatoes Friday Freebie, and this week's edition is so meat and potatoes it's practically a shepherd's pie or a big old plate of sausage 'n' mash. Mmmmmm, sausage 'n' mash…

Sorry.

Anyhoo, by meat and potatoes we mean demos and, erm, demos so it's hardly surprising that we are starting with, the, the, the DS! Ha ha, caught you out! Oh how we kid, do forgive us, it gets awfully lonely down in the freebie dungeon, week in, week out.

Ok, this just in: we have nothing for the DS this week. The Wii channel is exactly the same now as it has been for the last fortnight. What's the story Nintendo, snap to it!

Meanwhile back on planet Earth, the PSP's direct demo line, namely the PSP Store, has had an update. There's a new demo of Pipe Mania to be had, as well as a new Movement video, this time for London (though there have been videos for Munich, Milan and Barcelona added since we last covered the series).

Over on the less official, PSP Demo Centre, there's a new Japanese demo of the fantastic sounding Hitman Reborn. We say fantastic simply because we have never heard of it before and it has the word 'Hitman' in the title. So there's every chance that it will either be rubbish, or linguistically unplayable. I haven't had the chance to check due to the fact that my hands have been chained to my laptop keyboard (apparently it's for my own good). It's probably really good, so give it a try and ignore our glass half empty warblings.

As for mobile, well we don't have anything at the moment (I know, I suck today) but, and it's a big but (and we cannot lie etc), keep a weather eye on the horizon, or a freebie eye on our demos section rather, for a certain space themed game about a certain force that's certainly been unleashed.

It's a game that won't get a release on any other platform until the end of the month, so if that doesn't excite you, you are either dead inside or actually dead (check your pulse, you might save a life). For those of you who were quite rightly frothing at the mouth before the end of that somewhat clunky bombshell, sit tight, your Jedi fix is coming.

That's it for now folks, remember to give our demos section a poke any time you're bored - and remember, our Freebie Archive is overflowing with literally years (well nearly two anyway) of handheld gaming freebie delights.

If you've already exhausted those resources however, just click 'Track It!' to be sure not to miss next week's offering.
