Today we're going to completely forgo the PSP. It's a decision that has been made at the highest level and frankly there's not a thing you can do about it. The freebie gurus giveth and lo the freebie gurus taketh away.

Okay, don't go crushing your Go!Cam in disgust. It's essentially because there is nothing for the PSP at the moment. It's a worrying trend that may continue if the console's release schedule doesn't improve quick smart. Call us doom mongers if you will, but when we see truck out of control and coming towards us, we don't simply sit on the tarmac and wait for the impact. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

Still, fret not you jittering freebie addicts, we aren't holding out on you completely. We have something for DS/iPhone and a little something for the N-Gage, too, to tide you over until some of the more usual fare crops up again.

So what is this freebie that unites two gaming machines that are soon to become the best of enemies? Well, it's a bit of a cop-out but this week Spore Creature Creator was released, a trial version of which (with limited creature creating options) is available for free download. It is only the PC and Mac versions that you can get hold of currently but seeing as the game is releasing on both the iPhone and the DS, we thought you wouldn't mind getting familiar with the game's quirky-as-a-17-eyed-mutant charms.

You can look at what our 15-minute session with the Spore Creature Creator yielded by checking out this YouYube video (uploaded via the game's YouTube feature).

As for the N-Gage, besides the demos that we have been steadily adding to our own Demos section, we've come across a flash demo of the forthcoming Dirk Dagger and the Fallen Idol game which you can play on your PC's web browser. We'll be including the downloadable version in our Demos section as soon as it becomes available on the N-Gage client, but in the meantime this is a reasonably lengthy sneak peek of what to expect (and great fun it is, too).

That, dear readers, is all you are getting for now. We promise, one day, we will be coaxed out of the wings for an encore but you should always leave your audience wanting more. Remember to cast your eyes over our Freebie Archive, Freebies section and Demos sections for all sorts of great free stuff you may not even have realised you wanted.

And as always, do click 'Track It!' to make sure that the next Friday Freebie doesn't pass you by.
