We have a well rounded banquet of costless handheld gaming refreshments lined up for you this week. In fact, we're so eager to hand them over, we're just going to jump straight in with the first.

You'll be absolutely dumbstruck to hear that we are kicking things off with mobile this week, as we have buddied up with ad-funded games specialists, Mobile Rated, to bring you a pool of mobile freebies that just keeps on overflowing. We've set up a new dedicated Mobile Rated section in the forum where we'll regularly be posting links to the site's best and brightest free mobile games.

This week, we thought we'd start at the beginning with a mobile gaming staple, sudoku, or in this case, 5ud0ku. Keep a lookout for new additions and do leave your comments about the games in our forum so that newcomers can get an idea of which titles they should aim to download.

But that's not the only new section we have added to the forum. Nestling comfortably underneath the new Mobile Rated section is a new dedicated Friday Freebie section, where one and all can post links to the interesting freebie resources you stumble upon online that we, in our infinite freebie wisdom, somehow manage to miss.

A special mention needs to be made this week of forum stealth wizard Hidden Away who got into the spirit of the section almost as soon as it went live by posting links to two great PSP freebies. The first points to one of our favourites, The Unofficial PSP Demo Centre, which has added a downloadable Japanese demo of Space Invaders Extreme. It may be in Japanese but the plus side is that it is hosted natively so you don't need a PSP Store account to access it (Mac users can rejoice, in other words).

The second is a link to a Japanese web page called pspthemesup, which as you might imagine contains various free PSP themes. Beware though: apparently a few of them are quite saucy and hence not exactly work safe. You have been warned. (Don't all rush at once, eh?)

Lastly, we've come across yet another DS flash demo. Any of you already familiar with the completely bonkers over the top Fist of the North Star manga series will be in heaven with this one, provided you can read Japanese. We'll admit that due to our Japanese not being what it used to be, we couldn't figure out what on earth we were supposed to be doing when we had a go but, hey, it's free at least. If anyone fares better than we did, do drop us a comment and let us know how to play.

That's it for this week, you lucky, lucky people. Remember to give our Freebie archives a poke if you haven't already and remember to pay the forum a visit every now and then to see both what your fellow freebie hunters have tracked down, as well as the latest offerings from Mobile Rated. And click 'Track It!' to be sure not to miss next week's batch.
