Kicking things off this week on the Friday Freebie, we've something not specifically game-related but so wondrously geeky and fantastic that we simply could not resist. We have seen e-books on the DS and the PSP and some pretty special made for PSP comics and graphic novels. What we have not seen, until today, are comics for mobiles.

Well, now the guys at ROK Comics lay claim to one of the best and most unique freebies we have stumbled upon in a while. It's offering a collection of free amateur comics for mobiles, as well as series samples of professional comics. The canon of titles seems to be more Adult Swim than DC, so plenty of humour and quirky anti heroes are abound. There are also some satirical jibes, including a strip about Paris Hilton's recent jail fiasco.

What is even more fantastic is that there is a free comic editor on the site, which you can use to make your own strips for publishing on the ROK comic site. These comics can then be downloaded to mobiles for free. We go out looking for a single mobile comic, and discover a comics meets Web + Mob 2.0 extravaganza! A rare find indeed, and well worth a visit.

Next up is a slightly less inclusive freebie. No prizes for guessing then that this week's DS offering is a web-based demo of a game that is in Japanese. Detective Saburo Jinguji is basically a bit like Phoenix Wright before you get to the court room, with you filling the shoes of a square jawed Marlboro-toting criminal hound. The game is never likely to see the light of day this side of the pond, so for those of you with degrees in Japanese language that are going to waste, this is a good chance to discover what we're missing (or what might be worth your cash as an import).

Lastly, something for the PSP. We enjoyed Smash Court Tennis 3 enough in our review to give it a solid 7 out of 10 score. If you still need to make your mind up between it and the fantastic Virtua Tennis 3, this week's last freebie comes courtesy of the Official PSP Store, where a demo of the game is available for free download now.

Remember, if you know of some fantastic freebie resources please don't horde them all to yourself. Drop a post in our new forum to let everyone know about them. If we feature any of your finds in the Friday Freebie, we will be sure to give you a mention.

Click 'Track It!' for more freebies next week or have a gander at our now extensive freebie archive. Until next week, happy freeloading.
