Okay, let's get the bad news out of the way first. There are no DS freebies this week (he writes, ducking to avoid being pelted by eggs, tomatoes and rotten cabbage). What's more, as you may have already heard the new Wii channel announced at GDC is NOT the DS downloads portal that everyone was hoping for.

At least there are still free PSP and mobile treats out there to be had.

Size MattersThe Sony Pictures web site, for instance, has a fresh collection of downloadable trailers this week, including Ghost Rider, Stomp TheYard, Reign Over Me and Spider Man 3. And on the PSP game side of things, the official Ratchet & Clank website is currently offering a free UMD demo disc of the forthcoming Size Matters game to the first 3,500 claimers. The snag is that you must be an American resident.

We also turned up a wonderful little download that includes every single official PSP demo released to date in one bumper file.

But it's mobile gamers who are best off this week. GameJump's current featured games include the wonderfully daft Head on a Stick (as covered previously by Pocket Gamer mobile guru Stuart Dredge) and Popstar, a Sim-style game where the player takes on the hectic lifestyle of a chart topping celebrity A-lister. They are both full titles, and as long as you can put up with a couple of adverts during the loading screens both are cheaper than a bucket full of fresh air.

Diner Dash Glu Mobile is also keeping the tight-fisted amongst us happy this week by continuing to offer free web-based demos for all new titles. The latest to feature are Deer Hunter 2 and Dinner Dash. Both are about running after food of some sort, but the latter is much more civilised.

That's it for now. Click 'Track It!' to keep up-to-date with the best of handheld gratis gaming goodness.
