Friday Freebie: A Sunday MGS: Peace Walker demo, a Monday Valkyria Chronicles 2 demo...

It’s demo time, people, and if you weren’t quite satisfied with the first Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo, then you’d better make sure you’ve got your Sunday free as there's a new Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo on its way to coincide with the game’s Japnese launch on November 1st.

The new demo will feature a previously unplayable level along with one of Kojima’s mysterious new control methods. But you all knew that, already having read about it earlier today. What you probably don’t know is that there’s a second demo coming immediately after the new Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo on November 2nd of Valkyria Chronicles 2.

Sadly, it will only be available from the Japanese PSP Store to begin with, as there isn’t a western conversion of the game expected for quite a stretch yet. But all you need to get at the goods is this handy little How To we penned about how to gain access to the Japanese PSP Store from the rainy, western comfort of the British Isles.

We know, how nice of us - we’re like that.

The DS, however, isn’t. It’s a cold hearted witch of a console, tight fisted, miserly and uncharitable in every way. Maybe the arrival of the DSi XL in 2010 will herald a deluge of freebie e-books, but we doubt it.

Having levelled that bitter insult at the DS, we are still duty-bound to remind you that there's a free new Scribblenauts level on its way to celebrate Halloween. The only thing is, you need to live within reasonable travelling distance of the London Dungeon and be available on Saturday between 12:00 and 15:00. Talk about marginalising your audience.

Anyway, everyone knows handheld gaming’s freebie darling is the iPhone, and this week there isn’t only the free iPhone games Trawler Report, but the return of the iPhone gaming audio podcast, complete with new jingles.

And that’s your lot. If you want more, you’ll have to wait a week, but clicking ‘Track It!’ should remove any sort of chance from the equation. Have a good weekend!
