Friday Freebie: Star Wars demos its new PSP offering, the DS gets some Kingdom Hearts scrapings...

It’s so nice to have the PSP back to its old self. In the beginning, it was Demo Central for Sony’s handheld, but then, it walked into a lamp post while distractedly searching the skies for clues to the nature of existence, sustaining a bump that sent it reeling into a stupor for the best part of two years. Yep, that old chestnut.

It’s back on its feet now, though, and this week has attracted the attentions of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, in sleek and demure demo form, available directly from the PSP Store.

You just can’t beat a bit of intergalactic swashbuckling, especially if, like me, you spend every waking moment wishing you were Harrison Ford and insisting that all of your friends and family refer to you as Han. But enough about that, just go get this demo - it’s free, and probably pretty good.

On DS, we have next to nothing as usual, but if you're currently spinning round and round on the spot, demented by the knowledge that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is coming out imminently, then you might want to take a break to download some avatars and wallpapers from the game’s official site.
