Friday Freebie: Infinite Space anime short, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite UMDs...

Today we're breaking through barriers, challenging norms, burning the rule book and flicking a contemptuous V to the tenets of freebieism (yes, we just made that word up).

In other words, we are going to be stretching the definition of the word freebie to within an amoeba's eyelash of snapping completely, causing the very fabric of reality to unravel and the universe to disappear down the plughole forever.

How? By offering up a YouTube video as a DS freebie. It takes a lot of nerve to be so unapologetically feeble, and we're not even going to flinch.

For those of you still reading, it's not quite as bad as it sounds. That last two paragraphs were merely a test of loyalty. The freebie in question is a 04:25 anime short from Sega, the first of several we are assured, detailing the back story to a little game called Infinite Space, which is coming to DS soon.

It's currently perched comfortably atop our growing pile of pocket gaming related videos in our YouTube channel, so hit this link to pay it a visit.

As for the PSP, we've got a freebie we've already given you before. Yep, it just gets better and better. It's not exactly the same, however.

For those of you who enjoyed the digital download demo of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite a few weeks back, but are yearning for something physical to cling to on the long hot summers nights, Capcom is offering four free UMD copies of the demo to anyone who wants them.

That way, you and three friends can have a bash at some multiplayer dragon taming and maiming. Or you can just keep them all to yourself and hope that your selfish act somehow impedes the practice of potential competitors prior to the game's release. To claim your copies, just head here. Hurry though: once Capcom runs out of discs, the offer is over.

There's a second freebie for PSP this week in the form of free MP3 files for songs from the forthcoming Steambot Chronicles: Blocks Club with Bumpy Trot game. Entirely niche but also costless. Swings and roundabouts, innit?

On iPhone, we have the usual, namely the podcast, The Trawler Report and the Lites section of the forum. And don't forget, if you want to win £5 worth of iTunes vouchers to spend on iPhone games (or anything else form the iTunes Store for that matter) in our new QuoteStars feature, all you have to do is register and then comment on either the main site or the forum.

That's it for now. Do tune in next week if you want more of the same. To make it easy on yourself, just click 'Track It!' so we can send you a reminder when the time is right.
