Friday Freebie: Gardening Mama, Rhythm Paradise and Math Training DS demos...

Welcome once again to our weekly begging feature where we scramble over table scraps left behind by Sony, Nintendo and whoever else happened to dine with them last.

This week, we’ve got some updates to the DS download section of the Nintendo Channel on the Wii to report.

Admittedly, these updates may have happened ages ago, but seeing as Nintendo updates its DS demos less frequently than the appearance of a blue moon on Friday the 13th during a leap year, we haven’t bothered to check in a while (I know, I know: excuses, excuses).

At any rate, if you simply cannot wait to play either Gardening Mama, Dr Kageyama’s Math Training or Rhythm Paradise, but don’t have the cash necessary to buy the games, head to the DS downloads section of the Nintendo Channel on the Wii and you’ll get the fix you’re looking for.

As for the PSP, there’s a Japanese, Hello Kitty no Happy Accessory available to download for free from the PSP Demo Center. Goodness knows what on earth it’s about.

Perhaps its about throwing rotten vegetables at people wearing Hello Kitty garb and them subsequently being unhappy. Or maybe it’s about locking the Hello Kitty cat in a room made entirely out of loudspeakers and then playing the song, “Who Let the Dogs out?" at full volume for a week.

It’s almost certainly neither of these things. It’s probably some sort of interactive screensaver that makes your PSP look like an overpriced cartoon fashion accessory. Either way, it crushes last week’s PSP offering underfoot like a rhino jumping on a custard cream, so do your best to enjoy it and hold out some hope for next week being better.

On iPhone, we’ve got our new weekly feature, the Freebie Focus, as well as the Trawler Report, both of which should steer you towards more free App Store treats than you can fit on your Home screen.

Remember, if you’re new to the Friday Freebie, be sure to give the Freebie Archive a poke. It’s bound to have all sorts of great stuff in it you haven’t seen yet. Don’t forget to hit ‘Track It!’ so as not to miss next week’s pocket gaming platter.
