After perhaps prematurely writing off the PSP and the DS’s freebie pulling power, it seems handheld gaming’s terrible twosome is making something of a comeback.

First, after getting plenty of demos last week, the PSP has struck gold again, this time with a European version of the Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce demo that was released on the US PSP Store last week.

We’ve gone hands-on for a full low-down with the purpose-built PSP brawler already and it certainly shows plenty of promise. It has more than enough shiny, sparkling fluorescent ninjas dancing in mid-air to keep most gamers grinning maniacally, for reasons they can’t quite understand.

The official site of the game has also posted three nice wallpapers for free download, which are typically colourful and well worth a look for fans of the series.

Over on the DS, we also have some wallpapers, this time for the forthcoming Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure. But EA is more generous than that – it's also seen fit to post the game’s entire soundtrack online, complete with album artwork, for free download. Listen to it on your headphones and pretend your a twee, mustachioed detective. It works for us.

Besides those, there’s also the impeding DSi Ware titles to consider, some of which will be free, hopefully. As soon as any of you lot get your grubby little mitts on one of Nintendo’s new playthings, be sure to let us know what you think in our new DSi section in the forums., especially if you find any freebie gems. Your reward will be a special mention, right here.

Of course, there’s always our free weekly iPhone gaming podcast along with the Trawler Report to take care of all things Apple. And don’t forget, if you are new to the Friday Freebie, the Freebie Archive is full to bursting with enough costless, handheld gaming entertainment to keep your thumbs busy until 2010.

That’s it for now. Be sure to click, ‘Track It!’ so as not to miss next week’s haul.
