Friday Freebie: LocoRoco 2 demo rolls in ahead of FIFA 09 on N-Gage...

Much of the time, the Friday Freebie is a hard slog. Not that we mind or anything, it's just when your fists are as tightly clenched as mine (I am a Scotsman, after all), freebie resources are plucked much more quickly than they grow back.

It means that there are weeks when enjoying the rewards of a good long search feels a bit like spreading a single serving hotel sachet of butter onto a slab of toast the size of Luxembourg. Mmm toast…

Sorry, digression.

Anyhoo, the point is, this week is not one of those weeks because we have an absolute corker of a freebie for the PSP (and for the DS, about which more later).

How does a free demo of LocoRoco 2 sound? And no, before you ask, it's not in Japanese and you don't need to sign up for a credit card or a time share to be allowed to play it. All you need is a European PSP Store account and voila. This is so fresh that we haven't even had a chance to play it yet, so do let us know in the comments how you feel it compares to the excellent original.

Now for the DS. Remember those wonderful little online flash demos of DS games that have all but died out since the launch of the distinctly anorexic Nintendo Channel on the Wii?

Capcom does, and to celebrate the imminent release of Neopets Puzzle Adventure on the DS the company has launched neat little online taster of the game that you can play with any flash enabled browser, just head here (i.e. our Demos section) for the goods.

And while you're there, you might want to give the N-Gage section a glance as we've also added a demo of FIFA 09 this week, too. See, told you this week was going to be good.

But if you disagree (you bunch of malcontents) why don't you show us how it's done by posting any of the interesting handheld freebies you find on your digital travels, in the Freebies section of our forum (which regular member HiddenAway is doing a great job of stocking with updates for the various PSP Stores around the globe).

And remember, our Freebie Archive is but a click away, should you find your thumbs a twiddling aimlessly. Oh, and don't forget to click 'Track It!' to be sure not to miss next week's haul. Right, enough instructions. Catch you soon.
