Reef Entertainment has announced that it has secured a Nintendo licence for its Free Running title, meaning it's on its way to DS (and Wii).

Originally released on PSP, the game centres around the urban sport created by a group of remarkably athletic Frenchmen and sees you bouncing, jumping, climbing and sliding your way across cityscapes as you master your environment.

To be honest, we weren't that impressed with the game on Sony's handheld (read our Free Running review, if you wish) but that's not to say we can't recognise the potential the concept holds if tweaked while being ported across to DS. The most obvious advantage is the touchscreen, of course, which could revitalise the game's control system.

We'll find out at some point, obviously, although we don't know when at the moment as Reef hasn't set a release date.
