Developer Supermono (of MiniSquadron fame) has updated its blog with news that its upcoming futuristic racer is "nearly finished".

The studio also explains that due to "long (and boring) legal story" the game is now called Forever Drive, not Drive Forever, and provides several new screenshots for your perusal.

Forever Drive, if you don't know, is a upcoming futuristic racer set in massive online city. It allows you to build and race your very own tracks in a series of fully customisable pimped-out cars.

When you reach the end of a track the race doesn't end, though, and the game simply stitches another players' creation onto yours, meaning you can continue to race until you run out of time.

Racing stripes

As you can see from the screenshots in the gallery above, Forever Drive's neon tracks look simply stunning.

The developer promises that the shots are all taken from an alpha version of the game running on an iPad 1 and iPhone 4, but the game will also run on an iPhone 3GS.

Forever Drive is "nearly finished" but we're yet to get a release date.

Keep your backside in that racing seat and we'll keep you updated.
