Handheld management sequel adds network multplayer options

Football Manager 2007 coming to PSP for Xmas

Whilst we weren't completely blown away by the series' debut on PSP, Football Manager Handheld certainly put down a solid marker and showed more than enough to suggest that by next season it could be something special.

The latest news from the Sports Interactive training camp only bolsters our hopes, confirming that the developer will take on board fans' comments for the Xmas sequel, Football Manager Handheld 2007.

Whilst there's been no confirmation yet of the much-missed 3D match engine, SI has stated that there'll be a genuinely updated feature list, including the ability to compete against friends over the network. There will also be more playable leagues in the next version.

With team talks, feeder clubs, and a revamp of the youth teams and the media comment system all promised for the next version of the home console game, we can only hope that the developer squeezes some of these features into Sony's handheld too.

With a lot more detail expected to be revealed in the next six months, tracksuit managers would be well-advised to click 'Track It!' to get our ongoing scout reports.
