Illusion Labs’s Foosball kicking off on iPhone
iPad multiplayer mode successfully completes transfer to iDevice rival
With the FIFA World Cup and the Pocket Gamer Developers World Championship all wrapped up, we were expecting all the football games to be sunning themselves on beaches waiting for the new season to begin in earnest.
That was until we saw Illusion Labs’s latest tabletop-inspired title Foosball running onto the iPhone pitch, fully clothed in high resolution graphics for the fans’ Retina displays and modelling an unusually attractive physics engine on its head.
Along with three CPU difficulty levels, we were surprised to see that the team has somehow managed to squeeze the iPad’s two-player mode onto the smaller version as well.
This is done by splitting up the screen into two halves for one finger to control, as opposed to letting anyone flick anything they like around.
Foosball is out now on the iPhone for 59p / 99c and can be downloaded using this link. The iPad version is also available for £1.79/$2.99 here.
