Mystery adventure from the creator of Killer7 coming to DS

Flower, Sun and Rain promises to be like an even more bizarre Groundhog Day

Mystery adventure from the creator of Killer7 coming to DS

You might have heard of Suda51, the Japanese game creator responsible for the releases of two similarly weird, stylised (but highly acclaimed) home console games - Killer7 and No More Heroes.

And if so, you'll be interested to hear that you'll soon be able to play one of his earlier creations, Flower, Sun and Rain on your DS. The game was originally released on PS2 but only in Japan, so this won't only be the first time it comes out on DS, but also the first time it's playable outside of Japan.

Publisher Rising Star has confirmed the game will be available in Europe in mid-October. The game is described as an intriguing mystery adventure in the vein of the film Groundhog Day. Just with a detective trying to defuse a bomb day after day replacing Bill Murray trying to get into Andie MacDowell's knickers.

Playing as detective Sumio, you're given the task of defusing a bomb that's been planted on a plane soon to take off but - on your way to the airport - you're hit with various distractions and the plane explodes. However, the next morning you wake up and discover the plane still hasn't taken off so you've got a second chance. Then a third, then a fourth and so on. By solving puzzles you can work out the mystery of what's happening.

Flower, Sun and Rain is due for release in mid-October. Expect a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it game, a bit like Killer7 was. You can find out if we love it when it's released by clicking 'Track It!'
