It's all about awards for developers in Australia, as the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) are celebrating Australian talent in the gaming world.

Firemint, the developer behind Flight Control, took home three awards: Best Game, Best Gameplay and Best Mobile.

Tom Crago, the president of the GDAA sad, “Congratulations to Firemint on their success at the 2009 GDAA Industry Awards, Flight Control has been a phenomenal success and has really been responsible for the creation of an entire new genre on iPhone. We’re very proud that this title was developed in Australia."

Infinite Interactive took home two awards for Puzzle Quest Galactrix: Best PC and Best Handheld Title. Sidhe's Shatter was voted the best Downloadable Title. Powerboard Productions’s Last Life, Alexander Bruce’s Hazard: The Journey of Life and AIE Melbourne’s Pillager took home Best Unsigned Game, Best Gameplay, and Best Graphics, respectively.

From our console brethren, Transmission Games's Heroes Over Empires got recognition in the Best Console Title, Best Graphics and Best Audio categories. Considering the company had to close its doors in October, it was a nice closing gesture.

Congratulations to all.
