Update comes in to land on iPhone's Flight Control

Pocket Gamer would have twice as many articles and news items on it if it weren't for all the hours we've lost playing Firemint's Flight Control, and now it looks like things are only going to get worse.

The 1.2 update has just landed on the App Store, and it delivers two new maps and five new types of aircraft for you to guide in safely.

Alongside the aircraft carrier, beachside resort airstrip, military jets and seaplanes there's the addition of a fast forward button to speed up the action on the earlier rounds.

The game's connectivity to Cloudcell has also been upgraded, allowing you to follow other players and to add tags to your own profile so you can build a small community of tin pushers.

Naturally the Flight Control update is free to existing users, and the game remains at 59p for anyone new to this superb casual title. Hit the 'Buy It!' button to go an get your update.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
