PikPok brings Rugby and Aussie Rules kicking games to iPhone

Earlier in the week, we were talking to NaturalMotion CEO Torsten Reil about the future directions in which the company was thinking of taking its successful Backbreaker Football brand.

The trick, he said, was to make sure any new sports games matched the graphical and animation quality of Backbreaker, was simple and addictive to play, and addressed a large potential market.

The new games from Australia developer PikPok Games fulfil two of these conditions.

Its Flick Kick: Rugby and Aussie Rules games break down these sports to their kicking component, in much the same way Backbreaker Football reduced American Football to a tacklebox.

In such a way, the game(s) become a test of kicking (or flicking) the ball over the posts from different positions on the pitch, as well as dealing with different wind conditions.

The only obvious issue would be the global popularity of the sports themselves.

Maybe Flick Kick: American Football is up next?

Anyhow, check out the video below to see how it all works.
