Freeverse has revealed it's working on a follow-up to 2008's Flick Bowling, a launch on iPhone and iPod touch expected "soon" according to the publisher.

The original's less-than-serious take on the sport pitted numerous cartoon style characters up against each other at the bowling alley, players using a simple flicking action to send their balls firing towards the skittles.

Flick Bowling 2 looks set to add even more fun to that set-up, charging players to take down the evil Baron von Schtopwatch. Presumably they don't mean by aiming a bowling ball squarely at his head.

Regardless, six "historical figures" - including Ghengis Khan and Cleopatra - are on offer according to Freeverse, the aim being to "bowl through five different bowling alleys throughout time, all created with little to no historical reference" as you halt Von Schtopwatch's "dastardly plan to… well, he hasn't quite figured that out yet".

Its colourful take on the sport certainly proved popular in the original - as the Bronze Award we gave it attests - and Freeverse claims the follow-up will come with hotseat and bluetooth multiplayer modes, as well as support for the Plus+ online network.
