First FlatOut: Head On PSP screens rush in

Did you know this is the first FlatOut game to be developed for a handheld? What do you mean, you've never heard of FlatOut?

Fair enough. It's a franchise on the home consoles which is mostly preoccupied with aggressive racing, meaning that when – or, more accurately, if – you get to the end of the race, you won't be looking too pretty. And we're not talking just about the cars – drivers have a tendency to not wear seatbelts, meaning they come flying through the windscreen whenever a big impact with an immovable object occurs.

That's obviously the home console versions, but it's fair to expect a similar experience on PSP. Head On is set to feature more than 40 car variations and nine game modes, including Career, Carnage, Death Match Derby and Ragdoll stunts – another feature of the console games which makes use of the realistic physics used in the driver animation by turning it into an entertaining pastime.

In addition, the only other confirmed aspect are the two multiplayer options, based on turn-based and four-player ad-hoc events.

FlatOut: Head On is due early next year.
