Fishlabs strikes free mobile games deal

Adverts mean Galaxy on Fire 2 will cost nada in some countries

Good news if you're a fan of German mobile games firm Fishlabs. It's just struck a deal to release free ad-funded versions of some of its games.

The deal is with mobile ad firm Smaato, and the first game to get the ad-funded treatment will be the hotly-anticipated 3D space-shooter Galaxy on Fire 2 this Autumn.

However, whether you get the whole thing for free will depend where you live. In some countries, there'll be a free trial version which, after a few hours play, will require you to buy the full thing.

In other countries, the entire game will be ad-funded, and thus free to play. The game will use Smaato's SOMA platform to deliver the adverts, which will (hopefully) be as unintrusive as possible.
