Fantastic Four rise again on DS

Another month, another game based on a Hollywood film sequel based on a Marvel Comics property. But while Peter Parker is getting all grungy for Spider-man 3, it seems that the world of the Fantastic Four is becoming metaphysical.

At least, that's the vibe we're getting from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the new sci-fi film that rumour tells us is based on a 1960s storyline when Stan Lee suggested it would be fun to have 'the Fantastic Four fight God'.

The result will be Mister Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch and The Thing meeting up with the shiny liquid-rendered Silver Surfer (voiced by Laurence Fishburne) who apparently has a crush on Jessica Alba's The Invisible Woman, which is unlikely to please Mr. Fantastic, her husband-to-be.

Equally unfortunately, the surfer's master, Galactus, the cosmic entity known as the Devourer of Worlds and the Ravager of Planets, also decides to get in on the action. And, of course, Doctor Doom makes an appearance, too (he's got a thing about the Silver Surfer's powers).

As for how much of this plot tomfoolery will make it into the DS version of the game, who's to know? Take Two hasn't yet said anything of note about game, other than it exists, which considering that the game's release date is planned to be simultaneous with the film's 15th June launch, suggests the company should really be getting its PR skates on.
