First episode of iPhone survival horror series Fallen is chopped out
17+ rated for scares
There's nothing quite so risky as attempting to make an episodic game.
Even if the first release is successful, sales tend to fall away over time - whether gradually or steeply - even though each episode takes the same amount of resources to make.
So good luck to 7th Sense, which has just released Fallen EP-1, the prologue to its Fallen saga.
The 17+ age rated survival horror game, which uses a Resident Evil-style 2.5D perspective, has you playing as Roman Mendez, who finds himself in a prison where nasty things have started to happen.
Of course, your goal to to get Roman out of gaol as quickly as possible, but to do so there'll be a lot of fighting and evil to overcome.
Character movement is controlled using a virtual pad, and there's what 7th Sense calls an adhoc fighting system, as well as special interactions that use the iPhone's and iPod touch's accelerometer and multi-touch.
Awesome graphics and lighting are promised across 40 locations, while the story's driven by cinematic cut-scenes and atmospheric audio.
You can get more details, as well as wallpapers and music, from the Fallen website.
Fallen EP-1 is out now, priced $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99.
