Faida Fight punches its way onto mobile
Fancy a spot of Bluetooth beat-'em-up action?
Even on console, beat-'em-ups are one of the few game genres that has resisted the transition to online multiplayer, even though modern broadband connections are surely fast enough to support their twitch gameplay.
Mobile networks would struggle, of course, which is why you're not playing Street Fighter II: Multiplayer Mobile Edition on your phone, and won't be for a while.
However, Italian developer JavArt has the next best thing: a beat-'em-up that lets you pummel a friend via Bluetooth.
It's called Faida Fight, and its storyline concerns the world's most dangerous gangsters (think the Cosa Nostra, Triads, Yakuza and Russian Mafia) deciding to settle their scores in a one-on-one martial arts tournament.
JavArt is promising one-thumb controls, yet all the combos and moves you'd expect. As you can see from the screenshots, visually it's certainly looking the part, too.
What's that? The name? Oh, 'Faida' means 'blood feud' in Italian. Here's hoping you don't need to use that particular phrase next time you're on a tourist visit to Rome, mind.
