The previous year was quite profitable for the worldwide gambling, as confirmed by a large gambling providers. Innovative technologies have been tested and successfully implemented into the industry, with an active development of mobile gambling segment. However, these are already the past, so what can we expect from the gambling business in 2017? Will any trends of the upcoming year influence the development of the industry?

Offline Gambling Tendencies

You may think about the factors that generally affect the gambling industry. There are many of them, especially in 2017. Political tendencies, a business climate, technological innovations, and general trends will determine the development of the business in the upcoming year.

The Market Is Growing

The UK Gambling Commission has reported that the worldwide gambling market grew by almost 10% in 2016. The thing is that over 85 countries have legalized online gambling in one form or another. Interestingly, 80% of all revenues in the industry go from online casino websites, which is a great prosperity for the gambling on the Internet. Such a trend is mainly associated with the diverse range of gambles offered online and the absence of any limitations for gamblers. In the list of the key players that generate biggest revenues in the market, there are China, the USA, Australia, the UK, Germany, France, and many more. The gaming industry is expected to grow in 2017 as well, with the global online gambling business exceeding up to $80 billion by 2020.

Gambling Industry Says “YES” to the New Technologies

New technologies are still influencing the gambling market; new gaming products are released every day. But 2017 will be especially remarkable for mobile gambling: this segment will grow and develop. In particular, the speed of mobile data transmission will increase; gambling platforms will become more responsive and user-friendly on all the screens; gambles will be developed specifically for mobile devices. All these changes will be definitely noticeable for mobile gamblers.

Bitcoin in Online Gambling

In 2016, the UK Gambling Commission approved Bitcoin to be legally used for online gambling transactions in the UK. No surprise that big gambling platforms today support Bitcoin as their main banking option. What is more, experts predict even a bigger popularity of Bitcoin in 2017. And this trend can be explained not only with the convenience of the payment system but also with its greater transparency and security. After all, every financial operation is documented, so all the risks with hacking are excluded.
