Plants vs Zombies developer PopCap has announced that it will soon try and nab a Guinness World Record for the Longest Videogames Marathon Playing a Card Game.

The company will use its recently released Solitaire Blitz title, which is available to play on Facebook.

On the 26th and 27th of June, Laura Rich and Kathleen Henkel, who have both been chosen from millions of regular players, will attempt to play Solitaire Blitz for a whopping 30 consecutive hours. Both participants will raise at least £6,500 for charity should they be successful.

You'll be able to donate to PopCap's through the Solitaire Blitz for Facebook page.

"I'm thrilled to be attempting to set a Guinness World Record and supporting a very worthy cause at the same time," Laura Rich said.

"I'll be logging some serious hours on Solitaire Blitz over the next couple of weeks to prepare for the occasion. I'm confident I'll be able to reach the goal of 30 consecutive hours and help make a real difference in people's lives."
