Zynga has released a sequel to its hugely popular social dig-'em-up FarmVille, and - to be honest - it looks rather good.
The social gaming specialist is calling FarmVille 2 a next-generation social title that "levels up" the experience of playing and connecting with friends in three different areas: social, tech, and art.
Basically, FarmVille 2 is the first Zynga game to be made entirely with 3D technology. This has allowed the company to implement interactive and more-lifelike animations. Crops, for example, now sway, while your animals move more smoothly around your farm.
Just like in the original game, you'll face many challenges in FarmVille 2. This time around, though, Zynga has decided to tailor them to what you already enjoy doing on your farm.
Tasks such as growing crops, raising animals, and crafting items to sell at the in-game market now all come with realistic life cycles, too.
Naturally, your friends will play a big role in your farming experience. In fact, they've been made "more important than ever". You can recruit your Facebook buddies and ask them to help you complete specific tasks and expedite your progress, for instance.
FarmVille 2 will go live very shortly. When it does, you'll be able to play it on both Zynga.com and Facebook.
