Green Day to rock out with green pigs in Angry Birds Friends

It looks like pop punk hitmakers Green Day are working with Rovio on a pig-centric supplement to Angry Birds Friends.

The band posted an update on its Facebook and Twitter accounts saying: "Green Day has been hanging with Angry Birds Friends... stay tuned for more."

The message was accompanied by a link to greenday.com.angrybirds.com, which whisks the clicker off to a holding page bearing an image of a pig with wings, a "coming soon" placeholder, and a link to the Angry Birds Friends Facebook app.

Going by the hashtag which followed the posting (#greendaypigs), we're guessing that the appropriately coloured swine are going to take centre stage in this latest Angry Birds expansion.

Whether it has anything to do with the rumoured 'Angry Pigs' spin-off we reported on last month, however, remains to be seen.

James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
