US developer iQ212 has announced its first game, Emoticons. Yep, that'll be based on those infamous internetweb faces that peer out at you from your instant messaging application.

It's a match-three puzzle game, where you make groups of three emoticons to make them disappear, which makes others drop down, triggering combos and… well, you know the concept.

However, Emoticons isn't just a mobile game. In fact, it's starting out as a PC casual game, and also a Facebook game (check that out here). The mobile release is actually happening after those two platforms get the game.

We just logged onto the Facebook version to have a quick squizz, and ended up playing for more than 20 minutes, so the game's got that secret match-three sauce for sure.

We'll keep you posted on a UK release on mobile.
