Election Game 2012: Race for the White House launches campaign on iOS and Android

Apple doesn't usually do politics, as the makers of Angry Syrians and Snuggle Truck (née Smuggle Truck) will attest.

Which is why we're a little surprised to see the launch of Election Game 2012: Race for the White House, an overtly political game that sees you pushing your chosen real-world US presidential candidate to victory.

This appears to be a light-hearted and strictly neutral take on the current campaign, with little controversy either way. Unless you count being asked whether your candidate has Russian ties as controversial.

As this suggests, your main aim is to smooth your would-be-president's path to the White House, so you'll be answering media grillings, reacting to world news, and running covert operations to hobble your opponent's chances.

Election Game 2012: Race for the White House is out now for iPhone and iPad [download], and for Android [download].

Meanwhile, take a look at the game in action.
