People complain here in the UK that operators are unwilling to throw their weight behind own-IP mobile games. But down in Australia, they're splashing seven-figure sums on them!

At least that's what Aussie operator BigPond has done with a competition called Project Joystick, which got people to submit ideas for an original new PC and mobile game, which BigPond would then fund the development of to the tune of one million dollars.

Anyway, the winning entry was for Dung, a puzzler starring a dung beetle called Dudley who has to work his way through a series of levels while protecting his ever-growing great ball of sh… Well, you know.

The game was developed by Firemint, and it's just gone on sale in its homeland, offering eight worlds, more than 40 challenge levels, and randomly generated Quick Game levels to infinity.

We have no idea whether it'll come to the UK but Firemint has worked with publishers like I-play in recent times, so we'll keep you posted.
