We're used to writing about some fairly bizarre plots here on Pocket Gamer (and for as long as Square Enix keeps making Final Fantasy games we'll probably continue to do so). But the just-announced Dubbers Adventure must rank alongside the best " for anyone aged over six anyway.

You control a character called Rubb 'e' Rang, and live as a member of a peaceful tribe of small furry descendants of forest fairies known as Rubber-Dubbers in the land of Dubberia.

Unfortunately, the Ruler of Dubberia is having a few problems with the spider king and some other creepy crawlers. So being in possession of a special leaf that lets him climb higher than any other Rubber-Dubber, Rubb 'e' Rang is tasked with trying to save everyone.

The press release tries to make all of this sound a bit more intriguing by promising you'll "find true friends and maybe some romance", then asking, "Will they live to tell the tale?" We don't know but we're guessing we'll be playing the game (which is scheduled for a late 2008 release on DS (and Wii) and published by Lexicon Entertainment) to find out.

Whether you'll want to play it probably depends on whether the game's promised features appeal. Dubbers Adventure will apparently include 90 levels of fun and adventuring, highly stylised graphics and over 15 different types of enemies and bosses.

We'll have to take the publisher's word on those graphics for now because there are no screenshots available as yet. Which is a shame because we wanted to see what Dubbers look like. And indeed the forest fairies.

Click 'Track It!' if you're equally intrigued and we'll tell you as soon as any images turn up.
