Drunk Austrian game developer Klaus is a hit
Price of sequel dropped in celebration
I'm not sure how far you should take drunken bets, but in the case of Austrian developer Root9 MediaLab, a million downloads isn't a bad result.
It all came about with Klaus, a free game that started out as an internal joke featuring the antics of the company's boss in a tired and emotional state.
Cue viral promotion and the launch of the Klaus Buddy Facebook community and the game, which also got a Christmas Drunken Santa Klaus reskin, had cult status.
So after one million free downloads, it's time to put those eyeballs to good use; hence the price cut of the sequel (although technically released back in December 2009) aka Drunken Klaus 3D.
It's having its price cut for the next four weeks.
In the game, you have to help Klaus find his way home. This time he is stumbling along the seaside with slippery fish in his way. Tilt your iPhone to save him from drowning while sobering him up with energy drinks.
You can see what all the fuss is about via the online Flash version.
Drunken Klaus 3D is out now priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p for the next month.
